One Direction fans had a rough couple of days when singer Zayn Malik deleted his Twitter account...only to return two days later.

Malik, who is in British boy band One Direction with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, deleted his Twitter account on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

"The reason I don't tweet as much as I use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily goodbye twitter :)" Malik wrote on Tuesday. The tweet was followed with, "my fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account, :) x."

Two days later Zayn Malik returned to his Twitter account though.

"Sorry, I was getting some abuse on twitter but I don't want to let me fans down. So I am back!! :) x"

His comeback to the social networking site had his page flooded with comments from fans, grateful to have the singer return.

With the support he has received, Malik decided to dish out some support of his own, tweeting fans about the General Certificate of Secondary Education.

"Just found out that the GCSE results day is today, not last week aha. Hope you all did well, good luck if you haven't found out yet :) x"

But besides support for the GCSE results and thanking followers for their messages, Malik's return to Twitter was also to reward One Direction fans.

"Can't wait to share our big news with you :) x" the singer tweeted on Thursday.

So, what exactly was the big news? The boys made a 25 second video to tell fans about the release of their new single, "Live While We're Young."

"Hi guys, One Direction here and we've got a message for you," Liam Payne announces. "Our new single 'Live While We're Young' is going on your local iTunes for pre-order from midnight tonight so get yourself a copy there," Harry Styles added.

But the message wasn't over. "We wanna say a massive thank you to you guys because we wouldn't be where we are today without you," continued Louis Tomlinson, as Styles places his hand over Malik's mouth and Niall Horan strokes his face.

The boys seem to be united, despite the shenanigans that had not only has celebrity blogger Perez Hilton involved, but Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga.

The drama began Tuesday when Hilton published a blog claiming that Malik had been caught flirting with a girl that was not his girlfriend, Perrie Edwards. The post went on to report that Malik had deleted his Twitter, something that Perez Hilton saw a little more into.

"One Direction's Zayn Malik DELETES His Twitter!" Perez Hilton tweeted on Tuesday. "Called it! I said he'd be the first to leave 1D! This is the beginning!"

Besides getting angry tweets from One Direction fans, Perez Hilton also lost a couple big name celebrity followers: Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga.

However, Cyrus claimed that she did not unfollow Perez Hilton because of his One Direction comments...but because she never followed him to begin with.

"I don't know why everyone's saying I unfollowed Perez," Miley Cyrus tweeted on Wednesday. "I never followed in the 1st place. I have no hard feelings just don't care 2 gossip."

No matter what spurred Zayn Malik's Twitter departure earlier this week, his return to the social networking site and new video with his band mates show that the singer does not plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

Fans in the U.S. cannot pre-order One Direction's new single "Live While We're Young." It will be available for download on Oct. 1.
