If you follow Meghan Trainor on Instagram, then you already know what Friday is. Yes, it’s the release of her third studio album “Treat Myself.” Trainor, 26, has been open about just how much she’s grown as not only an artist but as a person since she began working on this album. So what exactly do we know about this self-love project?

Features Collaborations With 6 Other Artists

The 15-song project contains a range of musical styles including gospel, R&B, and pop. From upbeat vibrations to slow ballads, Trainor delivers on all ends, but she doesn’t do it alone. The singer collaborated with the following artists: Nicki Minaj (“Nice to Meet Ya”), Mike Sabath (“Wave”), The Pussycat Dolls (“Genetics”), AJ Mitchell (“After You”), and Lennon Stella and Sasha Sloan (“Workin’ On It”).

Nice To Meet Ya” Video Release

In addition to the release of the album, Trainor also premiered the video for her latest single “Nice to Meet Ya” on Friday. The video shows the star and rap icon Minaj serving up an array of preppy business looks in front of colorful office displays. The song lyrics center on complete self-acceptance and confidence; and that’s exactly what the duo is serving up in the visual.

Trainor’s Family Helped Out A Lot

In an Instagram post acknowledging the debut of “Treat Myself”, the “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” singer thanked her family, including husband Daryl Sabara. Under a black and white photo of herself, she wrote: “My family wrote a lot of these songs with me and are singing background on almost every song.”

In The Works Since 2018

According to Billboard, the first single from this project dates back to 2018 with her song “No Excuses.” “I’ve never worked harder on an album or been more proud of the music,” Trainor expressed late last year.

The singer shared on social media on Friday that the album is proof of her evolution. She recalled being “in a dark place of anxiety, fear, and self-doubt,” but has since grown kinder and more loving toward herself.

Chance To Hear It Live

“Treat Me” is available to stream on all major platforms. However, fans will also have the opportunity to hear some of their favorites live. As Billboard reports, Trainor will be performing some of her latest hits when she joins Maroon 5 on its upcoming tour. The North American portion of the “2020 Tour” kicks off in Chula Vista, California, on May 30.
