Aaron Rodgers showed up to training camp on time Tuesday, ending the stalemate between the Green Bay Packers and their quarterback. That doesn’t mean all is resolved, and it appears likely that the 2021 NFL season will be Rodgers’ last in Wisconsin.

The Packers offered Rodgers a list of concessions in order to get him back on the field for another season, according to ESPN. It included Green Bay’s agreement to “review” Rodgers’ situation at the end of the season, indicating that the Packers will trade the veteran if he decides he wants to play elsewhere.

Rodgers is ready to play for Green Bay this year, and possibly only this year. The reigning NFL MVP didn’t hold back in a press conference Wednesday, detailing his issues with the organization.

Rodgers said he considered retirement this offseason, and he didn’t inspire confidence that he wants to remain in Green Bay long term.

“I really don’t know,” Rodgers said when asked about the 2022 season. “Things in that direction haven’t really changed at all...There’s gonna be a lot of tough decisions at the end of the year. I’m just gonna enjoy this year.”

Rodgers said he doesn’t have the right to pick his destination for the 2022 season. There have been rumors that the 37-year-old preferred a trade to either the Denver Broncos or Las Vegas Raiders.

Green Bay has reportedly agreed to void the 2023 season in Rodgers’ contract, allowing him to become a free agent after 2022. Rodgers turned down a contract extension that would’ve made him the highest-paid player in the league, according to ESPN.

Rodgers has led Green Bay to the NFC Championship Games in consecutive seasons. The Packers last reached the Super Bowl in the 2010 season.

When the Packers moved up to pick Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Rodgers' time in Green Bay appeared to be winding down. Unless something drastically changes over the next few months, the two sides are expected to part ways next offseason.
