Despite his young career in the NFL, Alvin Kamara has already proven he’s got what it takes to compete against the best in the premier football league. With four seasons under his belt, Kamara had already amassed considerable wealth from his contract with the New Orleans Saints and other sponsorship deals. However, the football star says he hasn't spent his NFL earnings yet -- here's why.

Kamara’s net worth is estimated to be $4 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth. In his rookie year, the Saints offered him a four-year contract for $3,857,772. The then-rookie running back received almost half of the contract value in his first year, earning $1.4 million, Spotrac noted.

Instead of splurging his rookie signing bonus worth $972,772, Kamara deposited the money to a bank.

“I got my signing bonus and I put that s--- in the bank,” Kamara said.

Kamara actively decides to live frugally and hasn’t spent a dime of his $18,713,272 total career earnings from football. Kamara said that he solely lives from the money he makes from sponsorship and endorsement deals.

According to the 25-year-old athlete, he had learned to appreciate the value of the dollar because of his rough upbringing.

“As a kid, I saw my mom work multiple jobs only to be able to afford the bare essentials,” Kamara said on Uninterrupted’s “Kneading Dough.”

“I’m like, ‘Okay, this is more than I’ve ever had. My mom ain’t never had this much,’” Kamara said.

“I’m gonna keep doing the same thing I’ve been doing -- [spending on] what I need and that’s it. I’m not about to go over the top, I’m not gonna live beyond my means.”

The NFL star has proven his contract was worth every penny. Kamara has garnered the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was named four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro in the NFL.

In 2020, the Saints offered him a $75 million extension, with a contract bonus totaling $15 million.

Kamara spent most of his collegiate football career playing for the University of Tennessee Volunteers. His play as a running back contributed substantially to the team’s performance in the 2016 NCAA men’s football season.

He decided to forego his collegiate redshirt senior year, registering for the 2017 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints selected Kamara in the third round of the draft.
