According to Yahoo! Style, Amal Clooney has reportedly been working with stylist Alexis Roche -- the longtime partner of John Galliano who has worked with celebrities from Marion Cotillard to Kendall Jenner. The disclosure contradicts comments that George Clooney made a few weeks ago, in which he said his wife doesn't consult a stylist.

"There’s no stylist or anything. She just comes out like that and she shows up and she looks stunning,” Clooney said of his wife. Though Amal looked undeniably beautiful in a red gown for the Met Gala red carpet on May 4, her fashion choice drew criticism from some fans, who felt it was inappropriate for her, particularly as a human rights lawyer, to work with a designer who was found guilty in 2011 of making anti-Semitic remarks in France (where making racial slurs is illegal).

Roche is reportedly responsible for two of Amal’s recent Maison Margiela dresses, both of which were designed by Galliano. The gowns in question include the striking red ruffled dress she wore to the Met Gala, and the sleek, gold gown she wore to the “Tomorrowland” premiere in Tokyo recently.

The stylist took to Twitter on May 4 and wrote: “The wonderful Amal Clooney Maison Magiela by #John Galliano #Lorraine Schwartz style by me # MetGala2015.” Besides, he also posted a picture of George and Amal Clooney from the movie premiere in Tokyo and wrote that the human rights lawyer was dressed in a Maison Margiela dress which she paired with a Bulgari clutch and Manolo Blahnik shoes, adding that her look was styled by him.

Roche has been quietly styling some of Hollywood’s biggest stars: Uma Thurman, Sienna Miller, Charlize Theron and Marion Cotillard. At this year’s Cannes Film Festival he was busy dressing a handful of models, including Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen and Adriana Lima. Roche also was responsible for the much-Instagrammed black Alaïa dress that Jenner wore at Cannes. He has also been closely tied to Margiela and his agency, Michele Filomeno, which credits him as a brand consultant for the two shows that Galliano has whipped up since arriving at the Maison.

When Yahoo asked Maison Margiela about the Amal association, their publicist responded saying: The Maison wishes not to speak on this subject just yet.” Roche’s agent also did not return Yahoo’s request for comment.
