CBS’ ”The Amazing Race” is closing out its 31st season with a big two-hour finale tonight, but fans of the race around the world don’t have to worry, as another group of racers is expected to take their own global journey in 2020.

The reality competition series received a Season 32 pickup that was actually announced during the CBS Upfronts in May, after the current season, which has aired between 8 and 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, initially following “Survivor” before taking over its timeslot. At the time of the renewal announcement, the show was averaging a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 and totaling an impressive 6.9 million average viewers within seven days of delayed viewing. While it was a slight dip from 2018’s 30th season, it was fairly on par with that season’s numbers, the best the series had seen in a while, which likely made CBS confident that the show still deserved a place on the schedule.

However, while the series will return, there is a little bit of a catch, though fans shouldn’t be too surprised by it. The show is remaining as a midseason series, meaning it won’t be returning to the network this Fall. Instead, it will premiere sometime in 2020, though an exact date has not been confirmed.

Among other CBS shows which were renewed for new seasons, “The Neighborhood,” “Bull,””NCIS,” “FBI,’ “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Survivor,” “SEAL Team,” “S.W.A.T,” “YOung Sheldon,” “Mom,” “Hawaii Five-o,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Blue Bloods,” “60 Minutes,” “God Friended Me,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and “Madam Secretary” are all slated to return in the Fall.

As for “Amazing Race’s” Season 31 finale, the remaining four teams will first travel to London for their final leg abroad, before another elimination that sees one team’s journey to $1 million cut short by a leg. Following that episode, the final three teams are slated to finish their time in Detroit, Michigan.

“With the $1 million on the line, the final four teams Race through London, where they take a helicopter ride to Dover Castle, and through Detroit, where they rappel nearly 500 feet down the Guardian Building,” a CBS press release teases. “The team to cross the finish line first will be crowned the winners.”

The “Amazing Race” Season 31 Finale airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
