“American Idol” Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery was among several people who were victims of an armed robbery in a home in Raleigh, North Carolina, early Monday.

No one was hurt in the home invasion that took place before 2 a.m. near North Carolina State University’s campus as three gunmen – two armed with pistols and one with a rifle – took wallets, money and electronic items from multiple victims before leaving, the Raleigh Police Department said.

"It was definitely a very scary night. Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case," McCreery posted on his Facebook page. "I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case."

According to a police spokesperson, after the gunmen fled, someone from the home called the police. An initial investigation apparently showed no connection between the robbers and the victims.

Neighbors told local ABC station WTVD that they heard a group of people charging up the stairs and all they could hear was yelling, “Like, ‘Who are you? What are you doing here?’ for a good five minutes. It was just yelling.”

McCreery rose to fame via Fox's hit singing-competition show, and his 2011 debut album, "Clear as Day," was certified platinum within 13 weeks of its release. He is currently in the middle of his "See You Tonight Tour" in support of his second album.
