Angelina Jolie’s deepest longing was finally fulfilled. The “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” actress desired to be with her son, Maddox, and the duo had the opportunity to make this happen during the premiere of her latest film in Japan.

When the “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” premiered in the United States, Jolie went with her five kids, namely, Pax Thien, Zahara Marley, Knox Leon, Viviene Marcheline and Shiloh Nouvel. The eldest of her kids missed the opportunity to walk with her at the red carpet because he’s currently at Yonsei University in South Korea for his college degree.

But it’s Maddox’s time now to accompany her mom. The 18-year-old biochemistry student flew to Japan and met Jolie and his sister, Zahara. Prior to this, Jolie revealed to Extra that she’s been longing to hug her son, Elle reported. Although she acknowledged that Maddox was strong and he’s doing just fine, she openly told the news outlet how much she needed that physical affection from her son.

According to a source, Jolie and Maddox’s reunion was the first they had since he went away for college, Entertainment Tonight reported. Indeed, no money can amount the time you get to spend with the person you love. Jolie is undeniably famous and wealthy. Although these are good but those are not exactly what she needs right now. Being with her son and spending some quality with him —yes, that includes the much awaited hug from Maddox— are what matters.

Jolie and Maddox developed a close bond with each other. There were even reports claiming that her son grew protective of her so you can only imagine how she felt being away from her son for the first time.

A lot of people witnessed how Jolie composed herself when she dropped Maddox in South Korea. She admitted of being emotional that day; nevertheless, she held her tears back.

Although Jolie has the utmost capacity to fly to her son whenever she pleases but she, too, has her responsibilities to fulfill. Besides, it was time for his son to leave his nest and take a step to the path that lies ahead.

During the red carpet premiere in Tokyo, Jolie reportedly wore a Ralph & Russo cocktail dress. Maddox donned a pair of black slacks, a black t-shirt and a black suit; while Zahara wore a black dress with sheer skirt.
