While Apple hasn’t yet shared any details about the upcoming 2020 iPhones, there are already plenty of rumors about the upcoming smartphones lineup. But, how exactly the upcoming 2020 iPhones will look like? What’s next for the iPhone?

As mentioned earlier by CNET, the 2020 iPhones will likely get 5G support, a time-of-flight camera system, support for 120Hz refresh rates and, of course as expected by many Apple fans, a brand-new design. Apple is not making much change in the naming system. The company will likely follow the same naming scheme used in the previous 2019 iPhone lineup. The 2020 versions of iPhones will be called the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12.

The 2020 iPhones screen sizes

The world-famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone development team will use a more complex segmentation design and injection molding procedures.

MacRumors reported the 2020 iPhones will get major changes in design and look, probably the first design changes that the world has seen since the iPhone X. the website said the tech world could expect three display sizes, the 5.4-inch, 6.7-inches, and 6.1-inches.

With a rumored screen size of just 5.4 inches, the 2020 iPhone 12 Pro would be the second smallest iPhones in the market, just next to the 4.7-inches iPhone 8, while the 6.7-inches 2020 iPhone 12 Pro Max will be the largest iPhone smartphone to date.

Rumors also suggest that the 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch devices will be higher-end models, while the 6.1-inch iPhone version will be a lower-end model, possibly a successor to the iPhone 11.

There are also some reports saying that at least one of the new 2020 iPhone will feature an overhauled design with a metal frame similar to that of the iPhone 4. This iPhone version will likely feature a square-edged stainless steel frame and will continue to use front and back glass cover for the body of the smartphone.

Other possible features

As expected, Apple will continue to use OLED display across the upcoming 2020 iPhone lineup. The company has teamed with the Chinese company BOE Display, which reportedly makes and supplies LCDs for Apple's iPads and MacBooks devices. Apple will also continue to use Samsung OLED displays in its next 2020 iPhone lineup.

Apple is also expected to introduce a new TrueDepth camera system that will likely cut down on the size of the notch on the front of the device. Additionally, there are also some rumors of a new 3D triple-lens rear camera system that uses laser technology.

The 2020 iPhones will also be the first iPhone devices to receive support for the superfast 5G technology. It will also the first iPhone devices to feature the Apple Watch’s low-power LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display technology. However, it's not clear if Apple will adopt this new technology in the next 2020 iPhone lineup, the MacRumors reported.
