An internal presentation from China Mobile, the largest mobile telecommunications network of China, has reportedly revealed that Apple will be launching its 4-inch iPhone in April 2016. The purported iPhone 6C is said to be an upgraded edition of iPhone 5S.

The original source has called the 4-inch smartphone "iPhone 7C" in its report. However, Apple Insider has stated that since the Cupertino company is known for releasing its new flagship smartphones around September, it is unlikely that it will release a smartphone with iPhone 7C moniker before the release of iPhone 7.

Since the past few months, the rumored 4-inch iPhone is being referred to as iPhone 6C. The small-sized iPhone will be a low-end smartphone that will be released to replace the iPhone 5S.

The 4-inch display of the iPhone 6C is expected to support a display resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels. It will be supporting a pixel density of 325 ppi.

The Apple A9 chipset that is present under the hood of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus smartphones from 2014 will be powering the iPhone 6C. The SoC will be supported by 2 GB of RAM.

It will be featuring a Touch ID sensor that will carry support for Apple Pay service. It will be featuring a rear camera of 8-megapixel. Like the newer iPhones, the iPhone 6C will be coming with metallic chassis.

The iPhone 6C will be coming in three color variants like gold, silver and black. The handset is expected to be available with a price tag of 3000 Yuan ($463).

New features that are available on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones such as 3D Touch and rose gold color variant will not be available on the 4-inch iPhone 6C.

Rumors are suggesting that the Apple will be holding a launch event in March 2016 to announce newer devices like Apple Watch 2, Apple iPad Air 3 and iPhone 6C. After announcing the iPhone 6C, it may become available for purchase by April.
