“Arrow” Season 6 might feature the return of a familiar face. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim said that she is hoping to bring Huntress back into Oliver’s life this season.

“I want to say, ‘Absolutely,’” Guggenheim told CBR. “Jessica De Gouw [who plays the character] has expressed an absolute willingness to come back. Jessica’s a favorite actor of mine, and the Huntress is a favorite character of mine.”

The CW drama first introduced the Huntress, also known as Helena Bertinelli, in Season 1. She has a pretty tortured backstory. While gathering evidence to turn her criminal father Frank into the FBI, her dad killed her fiancé. That sent Helena on a revenge mission to kill Frank. Ultimately, a SWAT commander shot her father, and she was sent to prison for attempted murder in Season 2.

While Guggenheim sounded optimistic, it doesn’t sound like Huntress’ return is a done deal yet. “I want to make it happen in Season 6,” Guggenheim added. “We’ve got some plans for the later half of the year that I think she will fit into really well, so we’ll see.”

Now that her father is dead, it isn’t clear if the Huntress would be Oliver’s friend or foe. She wouldn’t be the Green Arrow’s only frenemy in “Arrow” Season 6. Anatoly Knyazev (David Nykl) will be back too. Similarly, Deathstroke (Manu Bennett), also known as Slade Wilson, will return. Green Arrow actor Stephen Amell revealed that the masked character will appear despite being on the island when hundreds of bombs went off in the Season 5 cliffhanger.

“I can report that Manu Bennett is back to being a part of the show, and I think we will see him multiple times this year, which is awesome,” Amell told the audience at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Nashville last month.

Those who walk the line between good and evil are interesting, but Oliver will have to focus a lot on this year’s Big Bad, who still hasn’t been revealed. However, that didn’t stop executive producer Wendy Mericle from teasing what to expect. “As usual, every season we want to try to up the stakes and do something different,” the showrunner dished to Entertainment Weekly. “This will be something we’ve never seen before. The villain will be hopefully as dynamic and as interesting as the ones we’ve had in the past. These people, or this person, won’t just be somebody that’s a thorn in Oliver’s side, but it’ll effect the whole team personally and very directly.”

“Lost” alum Michael Emerson is rumored to be playing the villain. His casting was announced during San Diego Comic-Con, but the CW will not confirm his character’s identity.

Emerson won’t be the only newbie on set. “Glow” actress Sydelle Noel has also been cast in Season 6, and she’ll cause trouble for Oliver too. She’ll play Samanda Watson, an FBI agent who is trying to find a connection between Oliver and the Green Arrow, Variety reports.

“Arrow” Season 6 premieres Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
