Arsenal burst into the top seven of the Premier League for the first time this season after a 3-1 win at home over Stoke City.

Arsene Wenger decided to rest captain Robin van Persie and left him on the bench. However, after Gervinho's opener was cancelled out by Peter Crouch, Van Persie assumed the role of super-sub to come and score two, giving Arsenal their fourth straight Premier League win at home.

The win saw Arsenal jump above Stoke into seventh in the Premier League table and maintain a much-needed winning streak at Emirates Stadium. They have won five consecutively at home in all competitions and it finally seems as though they have left their early season worries aside.
