Arsenal could lose another top midfielder to a Spanish club as Real Madrid are reportedly interested in the 19-year-old Jack Wilshere.

In the previous transfer window, Arsenal sold Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, bringing an end to a long running transfer saga. Predictably, Arsenal stuttered and went on a run of poor results. They've only just resurfaced, mainly due to captain Robin Van Persie's blistering form.

The Gunners are due some credit though, as they have climbed out of their sticky blip without their most dynamic midfielder. Wilshere hasn't played this season, with an ankle injury, and is only due to return before the end of the year.

Last month, the young England international stated that he would never leave Arsenal - something which will be put to the test if, according to a report in the Daily Mirror, an offer materializes from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Madrid newspaper Marca, which is also considered as an unofficial mouthpiece for the club, recently ran a story stating that the club were considering a shift away from the Galactico policy of signing established stars and would instead concentrate on buying promising youngsters and mould them into their style of play.

Wilshere was one of five players in the list, which also included Athletic Bilbao winger Iker Muniain, Lille's Belgian star Eden Hazard - who is being touted by Arsenal - and Borussia Dortmund forward Mario Gotze.
