Liverpool legend sees a bright future for Brentford star Ivan Toney in Arsenal.

Due to his incredible goal-scoring in the EFL, Toney has now become one of the most talked-about future transfer targets in the English Premier League.

Weighing in on Toney’s potential landing spots in the English top-flight, former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey recently identified Arsenal as the best destination for the prolific forward.

According to Heskey, Toney can surely play for any club. But Arsenal is the team that can hone him into becoming an even much well-rounded player.

“I think he’s on the radar of a lot of teams of well,” Heskey exclusively told HITC of Toney. "The thing with [Ivan] Toney is, he’s dealt with setbacks and he’s bounced back. His mentality is very strong. Regardless of where he goes, he will try and force his way in.”

“Being in and around the changing room at Arsenal will not faze him,” he continued. “Being in and around better players will make him better.”

So far, Toney has already bagged a total of 16 goals in 23 matches for Brentford. However, it was during the club’s EFL cup quarter-final victory last month where Heskey knew the 24-year-old was a natural goalscorer.

“I saw him [Toney] against Newcastle,” the Premier League legend recalled. “I thought his movement was very good. He pounces on chances and he’s got an eye for goal.”

“[Brentford] plays a very, very expansive way, a very unique way, which probably suits the way Toney plays as well,” he added.

Prior to being viewed as a perfect fit for Arsenal, Toney has already been linked to other Premier League clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, with the latter reportedly identified him as a suitable backup and co-star for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

However, neither of the two English clubs managed to secure a deal for Toney. Nevertheless, the Northampton native is still confident he will soon be a star in the Premier League.

Even more interesting, Toney already likened himself with former Manchester United star and world-renowned striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I’ve always liked Zlatan [Ibrahimovic],” Toney told SunSport last year. “I just love his confidence. Some people see it as arrogance but you must be like that to succeed.”

“I’m similar to Zlatan in both my confidence and the way I play,” he added. “When he wants to do something, he just does it. I have some of that in my game and personality. And I believe I’ll be a Premier League striker.”
