Can love survive outside of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’? After spending a little over a week together in Mexico, Elise Mosca and Chris Bukowski put their relationship to the test in episode 3 of the ABC spinoff reality series.

Fans were shocked during the rose ceremony on Aug. 18 when Chris gave a beautiful speech about having feelings for Elise – but then told her he couldn’t hand her the rose. However Chris wasn’t trying to explore a relationship with another woman on the show. In a surprising twist, the bachelor eliminated himself from the show due to an injury and asked Elise to go with him.

The two love birds left “Bachelor in Paradise” hand-in-hand … but are they still together? That’s the question on every fan’s mind!

Elise and Chris took to Instagram to share a “hometown” date photo with Chris’s parents. But unfortunately the photo wasn’t taken recently. Chris revealed to Cupid’s Pulse that they ended their relationship shortly after they returned from “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Chris told the site that Elise stayed in Chicago with him for six days after they left the show in Mexico. They continued to date a month after, however their whirlwind romance couldn’t survive in the real world.

“I broke it off because we are at two very different points in our life,” Chris explained. “I wasn’t confident that Elise was the right girl for me and didn’t want to lead her on to believe anything different.”

Chris, who previously appeared on Emily Maynard’s season of “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor Pad” Season 3, joined his fellow “Bachelorette” and “Bachelor” alums in Tulum, Mexico in episode 2. The other cast members were skeptical about the 27-year-old’s arrival. Known for being a “player,” the guys feared that Chris would swoop in on their women, and the ladies of the house were uncertain if he was in “Paradise” for the right reasons. Their assumptions about Chris turned out to be semi-right because the late arrival came in between Dylan and Elise.

Dylan and Elise developed a relationship during episode 1, however Dylan realized that he wasn’t taking full advantage of their situation in “Paradise.” Despite Elise saying that she was only interested in pursuing a relationship with him, Dylan told her to accept dates from other guys. Elise took his suggestion to the next level by hooking up with Chris in the ocean later that night. Her move ended up putting a permanent split between them … which worked out perfectly for Chris.

After Dylan refused to accept Elise’s rose in episode 2, she offered it to Chris. Dylan ended up getting sent packing, allowing Elise to further explore a relationship with Chris.
