  • Ousmane Demeble could leave Barcelona on Monday
  • Dembele is close to joining PSG
  • Barcelona signed Dembele as Neymar's replacement in 2017

FC Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Dembele could move to PSG on deadline day (Monday) if both the clubs agree to a fee. The Catalans want $22 million for Dembele, who will be out of contract at the end of the 2021-22 season, reported BBC Sport.

Barcelona on Thursday told Dembele to find another club if he does not want to not sign their previously offered extension, which would see him accept a wage reduction. While the player would prefer to stay at Camp Nou for the remainder of the campaign, Barcelona have made it clear they want him out now and if he does not find another club, they would leave him in stands, according to Sky Sports.

Dembele, whose journey at Barcelona has been marred with injuries, has started only six games for the club this term. Overall, the Frenchman has managed to make only 11 competitive appearances, having already missed 18 games due to various injuries.

Manchester United and Chelsea have shown interest in a deal for Dembele. However, the Premier League clubs are not expected to challenge PSG in the race to sign the right winger, the BBC Sport report further claimed.

Barcelona are keen to offload Dembele in order to sign either Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, with whom they have a deal agreed, or Arsenal's Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Morata is currently on loan with Juventus and his deal is going to end in the summer.

Barcelona have already signed Wolves forward Adama Traore as Dembele's replacement. Traore, who is a product of Barcelona's La Masia academy, has moved to Barcelona on loan for the rest of the 2021-22 season, with an option to buy.

If Dembele does move to PSG, it would see him reunite with his former Barcelona captain Lionel Messi. The Frenchman would also team up with his countryman Kylian Mbappe in Paris. However, Mbappe, whose current contract is also due to expire in 2022 summer, is expected to part ways with the Parc des Princes side and join Real Madrid.

Following the departure of Neymar to PSG in 2017, Barcelona brought in Dembele as a replacement. The Catalans paid $131 million to Borussia Dortmund for Dembele, who remains the club's second-most expensive signing after Antoine Griezmann.
