After dozens of reports of injuries, Vichy Laboratoires has recalled several batches of its facial serum due to a laceration hazard.

The recall affects the company’s Vichy Laboratoires LiftActiv Peptide-C Anti-Aging Ampoules, which comes with glass packaging for the serum vials. According to the recall notice, the glass vials can weaken over time and break when opened, which could cut a user’s fingers and hands.

The company said it has received 35 reports of injuries from the facial serum, including one consumer who required stitches on their hand.

About 206,200 units of the beauty product were recalled. View the full range of included batch numbers here.

The face serum was sold in 10 and 30 packs and can be identified by its amber-colored glass ampoules (vials) that have the batch number printed on the bottom or side of the pack.

The recalled beauty product was sold nationwide at CVS, Walgreens, and Target stores as well as online at Amazon.com and www.vichyusa.com from November 2019 to April 2022. The cost of the facial serum ranged from $33 to $60.

Vichy Laboratoires is urging consumers to stop using the product immediately. It is offering a refund for the affected product, which can be obtained by contacting Vichy Laboratoires USA Consumer Care.

Vichy Laboratoires USA can be contacted by phone at 1-844-973-0595 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or online at https://www.vichyusa.com/customer-service/contact-us.html or www.vichyusa.com by clicking on Customer Service and then “Recall Information” for more details.
