The Buffalo Bills visit the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday afternoon in a matchup between two of the NFL’s most pleasant surprises in the early part of the 2020 NFL season.

Heading into Week 4, Buffalo is one of only seven teams that have a 3-0 record. Las Vegas is 2-1, including an upset victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Both the Bills and Raiders are 2-1 against the spread.

The early point spread favors Buffalo by a field goal on the road, according to betting odds compiled by OddsShark. The over/under is 52.

Las Vegas was just in a similar situation two weeks ago, hosting New Orleans as significant home underdogs on “Monday Night Football.” The Raiders pulled off the biggest upset of Week 2 by defeating the Saints 34-24 as Derek Carr outdueled Drew Brees.

The Raiders had a chance to prove in Week 3 that they are a potential contender in the AFC. Las Vegas never came close to threatening the New England Patriots, losing 36-20 at Gillette Stadium and trailing by at least two scores for most of the second half.

The Bills, on the other hand, seized their opportunity to show they can be challengers in the conference this year. Following wins over the lowly New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, Buffalo defeated the Los Angeles Rams 35-32 in Week 3.

Josh Allen is playing like an MVP candidate. Buffalo’s quarterback is second in the NFL in passing yards (1,038), yards per attempt (9.1), passing touchdowns (10) and passer rating (124.8). Allen will continue to thrive against Las Vegas’ mediocre defense.

The Raiders rank 27th in total yards allowed and 28th in opponents’ yards per play. Las Vegas hasn’t surrendered fewer than 24 points in a game. Buffalo has scored at least 27 points in all three contests.

Carr and the Raiders performed well against a pair of teams that have struggled in the early going. They came up well short when facing a top AFC opponent.

The story will be the same Sunday in Las Vegas.

Prediction: Buffalo over Las Vegas, 30-20
