Blackpink Makes History As First Female Group To Earn Over $3M In A Single Arena Concert

Blackpink has broken yet another record.

The South Korean act became the first-ever female group to earn more than $3 million for one arena concert in the U.S.

Members Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé now hold the record for the highest-grossing U.S. concert by a female group following their shows at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Monday and Tuesday, AllKpop reported.

According to Twitter user @touringdata, who posts the latest updates on worldwide concert grosses and ticket sales, the quartet's Newark concerts each grossed $3.298 million.

Since announcing the "Born Pink" world tour in August, supporting the pop group's 2022 album of the same name, fans from all over the world have been anticipating Blackpink's shows, with most dates close to being sold out, The Rolling Stone reported.

The tour kicked off on Oct. 15 in South Korea with a two-day concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, or KSPO Dome, in Seoul, and it will continue until the next year.

The North American leg of the tour is expected to wrap up this week with performances at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday.

The quartet will then head to Australia and countries in the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

Blackpink will perform nine shows in seven different cities across Europe, starting with the O2 Arena in London on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. They will wrap up the European leg of their tour on Dec. 22 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands, according to Soompi.

Meanwhile, the Asia leg of Blackpink's second world tour is slated to begin on Jan. 7 and 8 at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the birth country of the group's main rapper Lisa.

Aside from its recent milestone, Blackpink also broke records with its pre-release track "Pink Venom," which was dropped in late August ahead of the band's sophomore album "Born Pink," Billboard reported.

The track's music video achieved the third-largest 24-hour debut of all time on YouTube after garnering a whopping 90.4 million views in just one day.

It only trails behind BTS' "Butter," which accumulated 108.2 million views within a day of its release, and "Dynamite," which gained 101.1 million views in its first 24 hours.

"Pink Venom" also set a record for the highest streams achieved in a single day by any song this year by a female artist, according to Soompi.

In September, Blackpink topped the Billboard 200 music chart upon the debut of "Born Pink," making it the third South Korean pop group to peak at No. 1 on the chart this year following BTS' "Proof" and Stray Kids' mini album "Oddinary."
