Blake Shelton is finally opening up about his divorce from Miranda Lambert. The couple, who were married for just four years, announced that they have decided to go their separate ways on July 20. More than two weeks later, Shelton has conducted his first post-divorce interview.

Rather than shy away from the subject, "The Voice" coach chose to tackle it head on. Sitting down with Entertainment Tonight sans wedding band Shelton sipped from a red solo cup, which he said was filled with "a little vodka," and discussed the challenging week he's had recently. When asked how he was doing, Shelton said, "Well, I got divorced." Following the comment the subject quickly changed to work. The "Sangria" singer was joined by fellow country star Brad Paisley who will be helping to mentor his team on "The Voice" this season.

"I'm afraid he's going to take my job," Shelton joked.

Shelton got back to work on the hit music competition show shortly after news of his divorce went public. On July 22 he tweeted that he was back on set, joking that he'd be bringing "a full ice chest" with him. Lambert was also quick to get back to the stage July 23 with a duet performance alongside close friend Ashley Monroe. Prior to that appearance she canceled a show in Canada. Although she sighted vocal cord issues as the cause, many believed that given the timing it was divorce related.

In a joint statement released to the Associated Press Shelton and Lambert told fans it was “with heavy hearts” that they had decided to split. At the time the statement was released the couple’s divorce was said to have been finalized. Fortunately they appear to be civil; Lambert and her former beau have exchanged silly banter back and forth on Twitter several times since their divorce.
