The St. Louis Blues signed Vladimir Tarasenko to an eight-year deal worth $60 million. The team confirmed the signing Tuesday and Tasarenko also tweeted about it.

Tasarenko, 23, is considered one of the NHL's top scorers, tying for fifth place among all scorers with 37 goals in the 2014-15 season. He had 73 total points last season with 36 assists in 77 regular season games.

Tasarenko and the Blues have made the postseason in the three years he’s been in the league. He has accumulated 10 goals and 1 assist in 13 playoff games for St. Louis.

The native of Yaroslavi, Russia, was the Blues’ first round pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, and the 16th selection overall. The agreement makes him the highest paid player on the St. Louis roster, both in terms of annual average and total value of the contract.
