Police in North Port, Florida, continued their search Wednesday for Brian Laundrie, the fiance of deceased hiker and YouTuber Gabby Petito. Police said the search includes a dive team in the Carlton Reserve, a roughly 24,600-acre preserve in Sarasota County.

Laundrie, 23, has been missing since Sept. 14. Police said he told his parents he was headed to the reserve.

The arrival of the dive team "does not mean anything has been found. It's a part of the overall search process," North Port Police said. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office special dive team has searched with a large van and boat.

The North Port Police on Wednesday requested the highly trained team of 10 divers, according to Sarasota County Sheriff's office spokesperson Kaitlyn Perez.

"These divers are specifically trained and very talented in low visibility bodies of water," Perez said.

Experts said that if Laundrie is indeed in the Carlton Reserve he faces difficult conditions to survive. The region is inhabited by dangerous animals and does not have safe drinking water.

Authorities confirmed Tuesday that Petito died from a homicide after her remains were found two days earlier in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Petito, 22, was reported missing on Sept. 11, while on a cross-country road trip with Laundrie, who had reportedly returned to Florida three days later.
