Britney Spears was overcome with emotion during her big day.

The pop icon, 40, couldn't hold back her tears when she tied the knot with Sam Asghari, 28, in an intimate wedding ceremony at her home in California Thursday, an unnamed source told Us Weekly.

"Britney cried during the ceremony, and Sam was sweetly wiping her tears," the insider shared.

Spears spent nearly nine months preparing for her nuptials. She started wedding planning shortly after Asghari proposed to her in September 2021.

The ceremony lasted just 10 minutes and was officiated by Reverend Clint Hufft, who also married Spears' friends Paris Hilton and Carter Reum last fall, according to Us Weekly.

"Britney arrived in this beautiful horse carriage that looked like it came straight from a fairy tale," the insider said.

The bride wore an off-the-shoulder wedding gown designed by Donatella Versace. She also changed into three other Versace ensembles throughout the night.

Spears accessorized with Stephanie Gottlieb jewelry, which featured over 60 carats of diamonds that retail for a total of $570,000. The pop star and Asghari also exchanged wedding bands designed by Gottlieb.

Spears and Asghari kept their wedding private and intimate and invited only around 60 guests, including Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Selena Gomez, Maria Menounos, Versace, Hilton and her mother Kathy Hilton.

"Britney was so happy and in a really good mood. She couldn't stop smiling! She was having so much fun and was dancing a lot, which of course is her favorite hobby," the insider added. "Everyone was in a good mood and so happy for Britney, especially seeing what she's been through these last couple of years."

Spears and Asghari didn't invite her estranged parents Jamie and Lynne Spears and sister Jamie Lynn.

Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer's sons with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, were also not in attendance, but they are happy for their mom, according to Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.

"The boys are not going to be in attendance at the wedding," Kaplan, who oversees the former couple's custody case, told Page Six ahead of the nuptials. "They think the focus of this day should be on Britney and Sam, and they are very happy for her moving forward."
