Rumors that the pop singer will join the VMAs surfaced when producers included Spears in the seating chart preview. However, sources exclusively told E!News that the “Baby One More Time” crooner is expected to attend the MTV VMA show to present the first Moon Man award.

The MTV Video Music Awards host, Miley Cyrus, even took to Instagram Thursday, to share her excitement over the news, according to People. The “Wrecking Ball” singer’s Instagram snap showed a seating plan wherein Spears will be seated next to reality star Kylie Jenner. Cyrus captioned the image, “Definitely bringin myyyy autograph book to DIS event!! #regram from @mtv.”

This year’s VMA will also feature performances by Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Pharrell Williams, Demi Lovato, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tori Kelly, A$AP Rocky and Twenty One Pilots. Past recipients of the award included Spears and Beyonce.

Meanwhile, “Anaconda” singer, Nicki Minaj, is also set to open the MTV awards show. MTV made the announcement Thursday wherein Minaj even provided a prelude to her opening performance via Instagram, Variety reported.

The musician uploaded a photo of a sonogram wherein, instead of a baby, a Moonman holding an MTV flag was featured at the middle. The Instagram photo also included a logo of the MTV Video Music Awards at the right side of the sonogram, along with a quick plug of the award show's Sunday schedule.
