It’s been two decades since Britney Spears launched into stardom with her debut album, “...Baby One More Time.” To celebrate the milestone, the singer shared the cover of her first album, which showed her as a teen, on social media. She thanked the fans for their support and said that she is blessed to have such a successful career.

Spears is taking a break from work to take care of her sick father, but she didn’t forget the album that made her an overnight success two decades ago. In a post on Instagram, the singer wrote that she can’t believe that it has been twenty years already since the release of her debut album.

“It’s definitely been the journey of a lifetime, full of ups and downs, but I’m grateful for every single moment of it all,” Spears wrote.

She also thanked the fans for their support from that first album to this day. She added that getting to know all her fans has been an “incredible experience,” and the fans have apparently made the whole experience “worth it.” Spears added that she feels “blessed.”

The post has over a million likes as of this writing. Fans from across the globe also commented on the post.

According to a report by Billboard, “...Baby One More Time” has sold over 10.6 million copies in the U.S. alone. The album is currently the 17th best seller since 1991, the year from which Nielsen Music started keeping score of music album sales. So far, only 24 albums have managed to break through the 10 million sales ceiling.

Spears’ other big hit is her 2000 album, “Oops...I Did It Again,” which is a follow-up to “...Baby One More Time.” That album has sold 9.2 million units so far. In total, the singer has sold 33.6 million albums in the U.S.

“...Baby One More Time” was released on Jan. 12, 1999. It remains Spears’ most successful album to date. According to People, Spears was supposed to start her new Las Vegas show “Domination” next month. However, she canceled all her plans after her father was hospitalized.

Spears’ father experienced a colon rupture and had to undergo an emergency surgery. Her father is currently recovering back home. In an online message explaining her decision, the singer said that she decided to put family first and be with her father at a time when he needs her.
