This year is definitely a good one for K-pop as the music genre enjoyed receiving multi-million views on YouTube. K-pop has become more popular than ever with more artists placing hits on Billboard charts than before.

Here are the top 10 most watched K-pop Artists on YouTube in 2021.

1. BTS

It is no surprise that BTS secured the top spot in the list as the famous septet has become a household name not just in their own country but also overseas. Although the band has only released the album, “Butter,” this year, the Korean boyband garnered a total of 775 million views on YouTube in 2021.

2. IU

South Korea’s well-loved soloist released her 10-track fifth studio album, “Lilac,” in March as well as her non-album digital single, “Strawberry Moon,” in October. The so-called “Nation’s Sweetheart” accumulated 649 million views on YouTube this year.

3. Lim Young-woong

In June 2020, international fans of girl group Blackpink were surprised that Lim surpassed the quartet in the local Soribada popular music chart. Although Lim is yet to conquer the international scene, this 30-year-old trot singer and YouTuber definitely made his presence felt on YouTube this year with a total of 639 million views on his channel.

4. BLACKPINK

Blackpink did not release an album as a group this year but it continues to dominate Billboard charts and even YouTube with its past hits. In 2021, the group consisting of Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo is at No. 4 among the most watched K-pop artists on YouTube with a total of 315 million views.

5. Aespa

The quartet quickly rose to stardom after they debuted in 2021. With the release of its first EP, “Savage,” this innovative girl group has accumulated 248 million views on YouTube in 2021.

6. TWICE

TWICE has been in the industry for seven years. This year, the group's album, “Formula of Love: O+T=<3,” landed strongly on Billboard charts. On YouTube, the group has garnered 236 million accumulated views this year.

7. SEVENTEEN

With the competition between South Korean boybands becoming stiffer every year, Seventeen managed to stay strong and released two EPs this year — “Your Choice” and “Attacca.” The boy band has also accumulated 203 million views on YouTube this year.

8. Brave Girls

Brave Girls would have already disbanded if not for its 2017 hit song, “Rollin,” which became viral after a fan compiled the girl group's performances in military barracks in the previous years. In 2021, Brave Girls is one of the most watched K-pop artists on the video sharing platform with an accumulated 200 million views.

9. OH MY GIRL

This girl group is famous among South Korean youngsters who are mostly enthralled by the beauty of its members. The “Dolphin” singers is at No. 9 with an accumulated 188 million views over its music videos.

10. Lee Chanwon

Lee Chanwon is also a well-loved trot artist in South Korea and is at No. 10 on the list with an accumulated total of 159 million views on his music videos this year.
