A 30-year-old man in Fresno, California, was arrested this week for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Fresno County deputies took the suspect, identified as Adam Cabrera, into custody Wednesday with the help of the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, according to an official release from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

Cabrera was booked into the Fresno County Jail on several felony charges. He faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

His bail was set at $220,000.

A search warrant was served by detectives at Cabrera's home on the 4800 block of E. Lane Ave. in Fresno after receiving a tip of him being in possession of child sex abuse material, police said.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives discovered that Cabrera allegedly sexually assaulted a girl he knows, according to the press release.

Due to the nature of the case, authorities are now investigating the possibility that there may be other victims who have not reported similar incidents involving Cabrera.

The investigation is ongoing. No other information has been disclosed as of this writing.

Police are seeking the public's help for any information related to the case. Those with information that can help with the investigation are encouraged to contact Detective Vasquez at (559) 487-6027.

In related news, a Southern California water polo coach was convicted of sexually assaulting teenage girls during underwater training sessions, KTLA reported.

Bahram Hojreh, 46, from Irvine, was found guilty by a jury Wednesday of 22 felony counts including sexual battery, sexual penetration and lewd acts on a child, according to a statement from the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Hojreh was convicted of sexually assaulting nine water polo players between 13 and 17 years old from 2012 to 2017. He was also convicted of sexually assaulting a 10th athlete over a five-year period, officials said.

During the trial, the victims said that the coach abused them underwater during pool training sessions at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, claiming they were to "toughen them up" for competition.

Since the assaults occurred underwater, parents watching from the poolside remained unaware, authorities said.

"The wounds these young girls suffered at the hands of this monster may not be visible, but they are very, very real and they are scars that they will carry with them forever," Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement.
