  • Canelo Alvarez will face Gennadiy Golovkin in a trilogy bout this September
  • Eddie Hearn raves about how things will play out leading up to the fight
  • Alvarez wants to focus on beating Dmitry Bivol first before talking about Golovkin

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin will square off once again for the third time this year.

Things are expected to be exciting for Alvarez this year after he finally inked a two-fight deal with DAZN.

Both fights will be spearheaded by his promoter and Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn.

The undisputed super middleweight champion will first take on WBA light heavyweight king Dmitry Bivol on May 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In September, Alvarez will finally face his ultimate nemesis Golovkin for a trilogy bout.

Speaking to Fighthype.com, Hearn talked about the highly-anticipated third showdown between the pair.

Hearn stated the obvious that “GGG” is looking forward to hurting and knocking out Alvarez.

However, he stressed that one thing that is a bit different from the first two fights is how the fighters treat each other leading up to the fight.

According to the veteran promoter, Alvarez and Golovkin used to talk trash against each other in the past.

This time, Hearn said “they don’t really care” about talking anymore and just want to beat up one another.

“I’m telling you now, the build-up to Canelo-versus-GGG III will be unbelievable,” Hearn raved. “They can’t stand each other. In the past, they never really wanted to say anything, but now they don’t really care what they say.”

“I want both guys to look great as it builds up towards the biggest fight in boxing," he added.

It is no secret that there has been animosity between Alvarez and Golovkin. However, the Mexican superstar affirmed that he’s not acknowledging any of it as he’s focused on beating Bivol first.

“[Golovkin] He talks a lot of s---,” Alvarez said via Boxing Scene. “He talked a lot of things, but we’re gonna see.”

“First things first, right, we need to win May 7th [against Bivol]. I’m focused 100 percent on this fight. It’s not an easy fight, it’s a hard fight for me, 100% on this fight and then we’ll talk about that fight [against Golovkin].”

Golovkin, on the other hand, is still convinced that he’s the only fighter who can figure out Alvarez.

“I know Canelo as a fighter, and I have the keys to how to open him up, how to fight against [him],” Golovkin said. “I’m certain that he studied me as well and that he has some things in his arsenal as well.”
