  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recognizes the improved fitness level of his team
  • Manchester United is currently fifth in the Premier League standings
  • The club is in a tightly contested race for a Champions League berth

The Manchester United roster has continued to improve ever since returning from the coronavirus suspension. Other than their improved chemistry on the field, Ole Gunnar Solskajer emphasized that the club’s fitness level has been in great form.

Per the BBC, the veteran manager shared that the team has taken advantage of the time off to improve on their conditioning. Provided the high expectations the team carries, the players have focused on improving their health wellness.

"We are fit, very fit," Solskjaer shared.

The squad is currently fifth in the Premier League standings and is aiming to take advantage of the last few games ahead of them. A Champions League berth is within grasp but the Red Devils must take it up a notch in order to secure their position. Considering how well they have played in the past few weeks, Solskjaer’s team is determined to win their remaining matches to ensure a slot.

Another big reason for the club’s resurgence is the improved play of Paul Pogba. Ever since the addition of Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes, Pogba has been rejuvenated with a brand new spirit. The combination of the two coupled with young stars such as Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford has propelled the team to greater heights. With their increased intensity, the club's mobility and level of aggressiveness on the pitch have also caught up.

"It was a big thing towards the end of last season when we felt our team wasn't fit enough and we got a few injuries," Solskjaer said.

But with everything that has happened this year, the club is determined to take advantage of any time to get better.

"We've not had that kind of problem this season. Our lads have not felt as fit as this year," Soslkjaer added.

It will be interesting to see how Manchester United moves forward in the crucial stretch of the season. The team is slated to face against Crystal Palace and followed by a match against West Ham. The club currently holds 16 wins, 11 draws and eight losses in the Premier League standings and is tied with Leicester City with 59 points.
