The last stop of Barkley’s career was with the Houston Rockets. It was there when he got the highest salary of his career at $9 million for the lone 1999-2000 season, per Spotrac. During his first year with the Rockets, he teamed up with other Hall of Famers such as Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. The stacked lineup managed to win against the Seattle Supersonics in the Western Conference Semifinals but eventually succumbed to the Utah Jazz in the Conference Finals.

Many would say that Barkley was underrated. He was undersized for his position of power forward at only 6 feet and 5 inches, but he rebounded like the best of them. The Leeds, Alabama native was often overlooked when he was younger due to his weight and short stature, he once measured 5-foot-10 in his junior year in high school, but CB underwent a growth spurt within a year. According to FanBuzz, an Auburn basketball coach described him as a “fat guy who can play like the wind” and he then went on to play for Auburn University for three seasons.

The former NBA MVP can be a bit rough on the court and he often got involved in fights that resulted in hefty fines. Chuck was fined by the NBA multiple times. He was ordered to pay a $20,000 fine for fighting Bill Laimbeer, a $10,000 fine after an altercation with a fan and a $5,000 fine for fighting Charles Oakley in a preseason game.

After his career was over, Chuck became a TV analyst. His colorful personality became an instant hit among the viewers. Barkley proved he was not only a winner on the court but also off it after winning three Sports Emmy Awards for his work as TV analyst, per Celebrity Net Worth. Moreover, his reported salary as an analyst is $6 million per year.

Barkley was a versatile player who had tallied at least 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists in his career. This milestone has been achieved by three other players in the history of the NBA. He was also a part of the Dream Team that captured the Olympic gold medal in 1992 in Barcelona. That team was considered the best U.S. men’s basketball team ever assembled.
