Chelsea's domestic frustration spread into Europe as they drew 1-1 at minnows Genk in the Uefa Champions League.

John Terry was an unused substitute, as Chelsea frustrated themselves with squandered opportunities including a penalty miss from David Luiz. Ramires' 25th minute opener was cancelled out by Jelle Vossen's 61st minute strike meaning the squandered chances from Raul Meireles and Frank Lampard proved costly.

A measure of how quickly fortune changes will be evident with a look at the reverse fixture a fortnight back when Chelsea thrashed Genk 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Since then, they've lost to QPR and Arsenal in the League and have only won 2-1 at Everton in the Carling Cup.

Much of the blip has to do with off-field issues, with the police investigation of Terry's alleged racial abused of QPR defender Anton Ferdinand and the club losing out to the fans in their bid to buy the freehold of land on which Stamford Bridge is situated.
