A right shoulder injury will likely keep Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky sidelined for a second straight game. Despite reports of progress, Trubisky was limited in Wednesday's practice and all indications seem to point to Chase Daniel starting against the New York Giants in Week 13.

Trubisky hurt his shoulder in the Bears' win over the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 18. He sat out the Bears' win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

The injury should not keep Trubisky out for much longer and the team said on Wednesday that he is "day to day" and "doing well," though it is unclear if he will practice Thursday.

"He's improving each day, which is important," Bears head coach Matt Nagy said of Trubisky. "He's a tough kid, you know and sometimes when you get in these type of situations, you need to make sure that he understands that we need to do what's best not only for him but for the team as well.

"He wants to be out there, but we need to just make sure we're doing the right thing and that he's communicating to us how he feels and we're getting feedback from our training staff and that we put it all together and do the right thing with him."

Daniel gave a solid performance against the Lions, throwing for 230 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 23-16 win.
