Chrissy Teigen is not afraid to show some skin. In fact, the model revealed in an interview with ELLE Australia that she prefers to shoot naked than in a swimsuit.

“I’ve never been much of a beach girl,” Teigen said. “I grew up in Washington — it’s freezing in that ocean. So it’s out of my comfort zone, and it’s the craziest thing that I’m probably most known for Sports Illustrated when that’s how I feel the most uncomfortable.”

While Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend, has admitted that she’s not comfortable with being in a swimsuit, she also revealed that she’s more at ease with her body now that she is a mother.

Speaking of her newfound appreciation for her body after giving birth to baby girl Luna, Teigen said: “I always felt like a bit of a tomboy, and I never looked at my body as particularly sexual — I wasn’t a curvy girl. But to be able to see my body afterwards, and of course you get, like, hips. Finally, for the first time, I feel like I have a bit more of a womanly figure.”

Despite feeling good about her body after birth, Teigen told “Today” that she does not want to give people the wrong impression that it’s easy to get back into shape after having a baby or that she lost weight magically. “We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies,” Teigen said. “We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that’s normal, or like that’s realistic.”

Teigen has always been vocal about her thoughts on body image and her personal insecurities. The model said she used to get insecure when she shoots for Sports Illustrated because she feels like other models are perfect and she’s not. Teigen also said that she was incredibly insecure of her feet and tummy when she started dating Legend, but in the past couple of years, she’s learned to be more proud of her body.
