Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” event continues with the premiere of “Christmas She Wrote,” starring Danica McKellar and Dylan Neal.

Mckellar is certainly a familiar face to Hallmark fans, as she has become one of the staple actresses for the channel’s many movies since her days as Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years.” Films from the last five years have included “Perfect Match,” “Crown for Christmas,” “Wedding Bells,” “My Christmas Dream,” “Campfire Kiss,” “Coming Home for Christmas,” “Very, Very Valentine,” “Love In Design,” “Love and Sunshine” and “Christmas at Dollywood.” She also starred in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film “Christmas at Grand Valley” and the “Matchmaker Mysteries” series.

As for Neal, while he hasn’t starred in as many films, he should also be familiar. Prior to Hallmark he notably starred as Aaron Jacobs on “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch,” Doug Witter on “Dawson’s Creek” and Bob in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Fifty Shades Freed” films. However, he also starred in Hallmark’s “Looks Like Christmas” and “Truly, Madly, Sweetly,” as well as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “The Gourmet Detective” series.

So what will happen in this film?

When Kayleigh’s (McKellar) New York advice column, “Your Best Self,” is the casualty of belt-tightening by the paper right before Christmas, she heads home for the holidays to reconnect with her family and consider what’s next,” a synopsis reads. “Kayleigh’s quiet Christmas at home gets turned on end with Tripp (Neal), the new editor in chief responsible for the decision, suddenly shows up to woo her back and make her loyal readers happy.”

However, Kayleigh will make sure Tripp has to work to get her back—by revealing that she’s now taken her talents elsewhere and it too valuable to her community.

“Kayleigh’s resolute in her decision to stay put so Tripp extends his visit to try and sway her. Claiming she’s already taken a new job with her local paper, Kayleigh quickly gets to work on a daily column about how to be your best Christmas self,” the synopsis continues. “Over the next few days, as Tripp attends the various holiday activities in town highlighted in the column, he begins to loosen up and enjoy himself and Kayleigh starts to see him in a different light.”

However, something else could stand in their way—one of Kayleigh’s ex-boyfriends.

“An attraction between them begins to develop but a past love of Kayleigh’s (Dan Payne) resurfaces and could create a detour to their budding romance,” the synopsis concludes.

“Christmas She Wrote” premieres Sunday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
