Bankrupt electronics retailer Circuit City hasn't found a buyer, a representative said Thursday as the first day of an auction for the company's assets ended.

Circuit City is still in talks with bidders who could either buy the company or certain assets, said Ian Fredericks of law firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP.

Citigroup filed for bankruptcy protection in November amid a bad cash position and tighter terms for vendors, Reuters reported.The retailer has also closed 155 stores in the U.S.
