Amazon will no longer require employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear masks starting on Tuesday, unless mandated by state or local law, CNBC reports.

“Vaccines are universally available across the U.S. and vaccination rates continue to rise which enables the ability to return to our previous mask policy,” the company said in a notice released to employees.

Amazon sayis will continue to enforce all COVID-related safety measures and guidelines from medical experts and health officials. Employees are considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their second dose of the vaccine and can provide proof of vaccination.

The move comes two months after the company decided to incentivize their employees to get the vaccine by giving employees a chance to win $500,000 or $100,000 in cash and other prizes, such as cars and vacations.

A total of $18 million in prizes were rewarded from September through Oct. 21. Companies such as American Airlines, Amtrak, Kroger, and McDonald's also offered incentive programs to get their employees vaccinated.
