If the Dallas Cowboys hope to reach the NFC Championship Game, they’ll have to do so by pulling off a big upset. The NFC East champs are heavy underdogs against the Los Angeles Rams in the 2019 NFL divisional playoffs.

Dallas defeated the Seattle Seahawks as 2.5-point favorites on Wild-Card Weekend. The Cowboys are seven-point underdogs in their visit to Los Angeles, according to OddsShark.

The betting public appears to be siding with Dallas in the early going. A little more than 24 hours after the matchup was set, the Cowboys have received 54 percent of the bets, according to The Action Network.

That trend could very well continue until the game kicks off Saturday night. The Cowboys are among the hottest teams in football with eight wins in their last nine games. Dallas was the only favorite that won their wild-card game.

The Rams weren’t very impressive down the stretch of the regular season. Before dominating the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers—they had the NFL’s two worst records—in Week 16 and Week 17, Los Angeles was beaten by the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles in consecutive games.

L.A. hasn’t beaten a team with a winning record since defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 when the two teams scored 105 total points. Head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff lost their only playoff game together last season when they were upset at home by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round.

The Cowboys are given the worst odds to win the NFC, even though the Eagles are a bigger underdog in the divisional round. Dallas began the week with +750 odds to reach the Super Bowl. Philadelphia was given +650 odds to win the conference after upsetting Chicago in their wild-card game.

The Rams and Cowboys didn’t meet in the 2018 regular season. Los Angeles won on the road in Dallas 35-30 in Week 4 last season.
