A nasty crash during last weekend’s Supercross event in San Diego has reportedly left TwoTwo Motorsports team owner and racer Chad Reed with a broken scapula, collarbone and T1 vertebrae.

Trying to take over third place during the race, Reed clipped the back wheel of Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen and fell off his bike into the whoops.

The Australian-born Reed is out of the hospital and took to Twitter to assure his fans, and to show the support he has from his family.

The crash could have been even more catastrophic had fellow racer Ryan Dungy not avoided Reed lying on the track.

According to Cycle News, Reed will attempt to race at the Dallas Supercross on Saturday. Moving down to third in the standings, Reed already owns two wins this season, and was only two points behind leader Ryan Villopoto before the crash.

Reed is now 15 points back of Villopoto and six points behind Roczen.
