The countless historic moments Ronaldo and Messi have instilled in the minds of their fans will never be replaced. However, as the two iconic players approach the beginning of their twilight, a new generation has already introduced themselves to the world. One of them is Erling Braut Haaland, a 19-year-old Norwegian who has been viewed by many as a future Messi.

Haaland is a prolific goalscorer who has continued his incredible scoring for Borussia Dortmund in the 3-2 DFB Pokal defeat against Werder Bremen on Tuesday night. The youngster found then net in a 44-minute cameo to complete a tally of 8 goals for the Bundesliga side in 4 games. After the impressive goal, Haaland is now at a rate of a goal every 22.5 minutes.

To put it into context, Haaland, who completed a €20m move to Dortmund from RB Leipzig in January, has a ratio of 2 goals per game for his new side . The Norway striker has played only 180 minutes, or the equivalent of two full games. In simpler terms, he has now scored 4 goals for every 90 minutes on the pitch .

What is even more head-turning is the fact that at the Austrian club, Haaland holds a ratio of 1.07 per game beating Real Madrid’s all-time leading scorer Ronaldo’s 1.03 goals per game at the Bernabéu. With the way Haaland has been playing lately, it is believed that he is likely to be handed more starts under Lucien Favre given the circumstances.

Limiting Haaland into his new side is the logical course of action especially for a young player. But with his impressive numbers and consistent scoring, Dortmund is expected to have to let him loose.

Haaland has started just one of his four games for the club so far. In that short stint, he already bagged two goals and an assist in a 5-0 destruction of Union Berlin . The talks around Haaland are already starting to generate interest in soccer proving just how good he is. And his recent transfer to German team Borussia Dortmund has only added to his lure. Ultimately, Haaland on his way to stardom as he has already proven that he can tremendously score given he’s only 19 years old.
