Looks like the ballroom floor is responsible for creating more than just Mirror Ball champions!

Throughout the years, the long running hit ABC series “Dancing With the Stars” has played the role of matchmaker — and we can’t exacly say we’re surprised. Between the sensual routines and the intimate one-on-one dance lessons, it’s no wonder that several “DWTS” pros have dated their celebrity partners … and each other!

Find out which ballroom buddies dipped and kissed during their stint on the dance series:

1. Karina Smirnoff & Mario Lopez (Season 3)

The chemistry between Karina and Mario proved to be more than just a ratings boost. The partners who competed for the Mirror Ball trophy in 2006 dated for two years before ending their romance due to rumored infidelity.

2. Mark Ballas & Sabrina Bryan (Season 5)

During Mark’s first season on the ABC series, he fell head over heels for his partner. Mark dated "The Cheetah Girl" star after the two were eliminated from Season 5. However, due to Sabrina’s busy schedule filming “The Cheetah Girls: One World,” the two called it quits, according to E! News.

3. Derek Hough & Shannon Elizabeth (Season 6)

During Season 6 of “DWTS,” Derek and Shannon took their partnership to the next level. The duo dated for a year before ending their relationship in 2009. The couple announced their breakup on Twitter.

4. Julianne Hough & Chuck Wicks (Season 8)

Julianne and Chuck were dating before the twosome took to the ballroom during the show’s eighth season. The couple finished in sixth place and broke up shortly after. A source divulged to People magazine that the breakup was “mutual.”

5. Karina Smirnoff & Maksim Chmerkovskiy

The “DWTS” pros got engaged in December 2008, sixth months after dating. But their romance fizzled out when the two were unable to see eye-to-eye on the future. A source revealed to People magazine that Maks was ready to start a family while Karina wasn’t — an argument that reportedly contributed to their breakup.

6. Kym Johnson & Robert Herjavec (Season 20)

Shortly after getting out of a 14-year-long marriage, it was rumored that the “Shark Tank” star had started a fling with his Season 20 partner. The partners dodged questions about a blossoming romance until February, which is when the two announced they were engaged.

“I still can’t believe that a year after walking into a dancing studio, of all places, my life has changed this much,” Robert gushed to People magazine after popping the question to his bride-to-be. “Kym is an incredible woman and I’m just so excited for what the future brings for us.”

7. Maksim Chmerkovskiy & Peta Murgatroyd

This on-again-off-again couple is back on — for good! In December 2015, Maks got down on one knee (during a performance of “Sway: A Dance Triology”) to ask Peta to marry him.

“I’m in love with you, and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life,” he said to the woman who he began dating in 2012. “And if you’ll have me, I want you to be part of mine.”

“Dancing With the Stars” Season 22 will premiere on Monday, March 21, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
