Tom Bergeron is on his own on “Dancing With the Stars” this Monday. Co-host Erin Andrews will be absent from the show’s third week.

Bergeron made the announcement on Sunday, revealing the tragic circumstances surrounding Andrews’ evening off. According to a tweet on the “DWTS” host’s page, the Maine native’s husband Jarret Stoll suffered a loss in his family. Andrews will be spending time with her husband, mourning the death of his nephew. Bergeron sent love and support to Andrews and her husband during this difficult time.

Although Monday’s show will feature just one host, Bergeron will be joined by a guest host on Tuesday during the second two-hour elimination episode. He made the announcement on social media, telling a fan that neither he nor ABC had determined who that guest would be.

Andrews and Stoll have been quiet about his nephew’s death. It remains unclear how old he was and what the cause of death is. Andrews — who has worked as a sports anchor — did, however, take a moment to express her deep sadness over the passing of Miami Marlins player Jose Fernandez. She retweeted an ominous message shared by the Cuban pitcher on Sept. 1, adding that she was at a loss for words. Fernandez leaves behind his mother, grandmother and girlfriend Carla Mendoza, who is pregnant with their first child.

It remains unclear when Andrews will return to “DWTS.” Tune in Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC to watch the remaining 12 pairs dance their hearts out. The second elimination will take place at 8 p.m. EDT on Tuesday.
