While Season 29’s return still hasn’t been officially confirmed and a return date could be affected due to continued shutdowns from COVID-19, that doesn’t mean potential celebrity participants aren’t being floated for a turn on the dance floor this fall on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Among the newest names that have been thrown into the ring for potential participants is none other than “Celebrity IOU” and “Forever Home” host Jonathan Scott, who in an interview with his brother Drew for Gold Derby, teased that if he were asked to be on the show, he would do much better than his brother, who competed on the show’s 25th season.

“If I was going to do it, I would win it,” he said.

He also revealed that the show takes a lot of time and commitment, so if he were to consider a run, it would require a more freed-up schedule, something his brother didn’t have during his time on the show (he placed fourth at the time).

“Drew was crazy because we were still filming our shows full-time and he was flying back and forth and doing that,” he explained. “I would never do that. There’s just too much work with our shows and being on-site for construction. So if I had a large period of downtime and could really focus on it, that’s how I like to do everything that I do, I have to be able to 100% focus and make sure I'm the best at it.”

If the HGTV star were to follow in his brother’s footsteps, it wouldn’t be the first time two relatives have competed on the show. Marie Osmond placed third in Season Five while her brother Donny won Season nine, Kim Kardashian placed 11th in Season Seven, while her brother Rob took second place in Season 13, Kelly and Jack Osbourne each placed third in Seasons Nine and 17, Aaron Carter took fifth in Season Nine and Nik Carter came in second on Season 21, and Toni Braxton placed eighth in Season Seven while her sister Tamar came in fifth in Season 21.

Drew Lachey won Season 2, while his brother Nick and sister-in-law Vanessa both compete in Season 25, taking 9th and 7th place. Married couple Alexa and Carlos PenaVega also both competed in Season 21, taking 6th and 4th place.

As for Season 29, if the HGTV star was to be approached and participate, other potential people he could face off against would be Charlie Sheen, Ryan Shazier and Christie Brinkley, who have all previously been floated as potential participants. Brinkley would be making a second attempt to be on the show if she joined after an injury sidelined her from competing in Season 28 and she was replaced last minute by her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook.
