They were moving things along in a positive direction when it came to their potential relationship, but following the mayoral debate in Salem, Haley and JJ will once again find themselves at odds over the fact that he revealed the secret about her immigration status on the Tuesday, Feb. 26 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

As they watched the debate for the mayoral race on television, Haley (Thia Megia) and JJ (Casey Moss) were stunned when Jack (Matthew Ashford) brought up the topic of immigration and confronted Melinda (Laura Kai Chen) about her secret sister’s illegal status. Haley had only told JJ the truth on the NBC soap, and as a result, she knows he shared some of her story with his father.

Now, she will put him on blast for betraying her, and before he can explain what really happened, she will likely flee so she can protect herself from being arrested and sent back to China.

JJ did confide in Jack, but without revealing the whole story or Haley’s actual identity. Jack had then shared that info with Eve (Kassie DePaiva), and as she snooped around in the hopes of finding info she could use that would make Jack a perfect candidate for Salem’s mayor, she uncovered the truth. Regardless, JJ will be furious at his father as well, though his concern will be to also try and find Haley so he can explain what actually happened.

Of course, if she does go underground to try and hide, it could land him in some trouble since he was technically allowing her to stay with him while knowing the truth. It can also give him some trouble if Haley finds help with the other man who seemed like potential competition for her affections—Tripp (Lucas Adams).

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
