“Dirty Dancing” will soon grace the small screen. A month short of its debut, ABC released its trailer to give viewers a glimpse of what to expect in its upcoming TV series.

On Tuesday, ABC released a 30-second clip teaser for “Dirty Dancing,” which Debra Messing shared on Twitter. “Get ready to dance and fall in love! #DirtyDancing premieres Wednesday, May 24 on ABC,” she wrote in the caption.

The teaser featured Abigail Breslin as Baby, where she was introduced to Colt Pratte’s character, Johnny. In the original film released in 1987, Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze played the lead roles, Entertainment Tonight reported.

The trailer included some of the iconic moments in the well-received film. It featured Baby and Johnny sharing a steamy kiss and dancing to the tune of “(I’ve Had) the Time of My Life.” It also showed the most famous line from the film, “Nobody puts Baby in the corner.” Katey Sagal, Messing and Sarah Hyland are part of the cast.

Unfortunately, based on the comments, viewers were not pleased with the clip ABC released for the remake. “Oh my God... this looks hilariously bad,” one Youtuber named Dennis Healy commented. “No. Go home abc your drunk. Bad abc.,” Bunks Potify added.

“Please no! Stick to ruining films men loved from their childhood. Leave ours alone! What's next Sixteen Candles? Who did the casting anyway? Abigail playing Baby looks 13 and the guy playing Johnny looks 30. Ewwww,” rugr82day commented.

In other news, according to CNN, ABC’s “Dirty Dancing” is not a complete remake. The TV series aims to answer the questions left unanswered in the movie. For instance, what happened between Baby and Johnny after their summer romance?

“Dirty Dancing” premieres on May 24 on ABC.
