Dog Fights Off Cobra To Save Owner's Life, Dies Of Snakebite

A pet dog died on Sunday while fighting off a snake to save its owner's life. The incident took place in the southern Indian state of Telangana.

According to local reports, the owner was sleeping when the dog, a Pomeranian, saw a snake slithering inside the house. The dog started barking and engaged in a fight with the reptile. During the fight, the venomous snake bit the dog.

The owner heard the dog's cry and woke up to find the snake inside the house. The owner killed the snake with a stick and rushed his pet to a veterinarian. The vet declared the dog dead.

“My dog saved my life by sacrificing his life. He dived into the air like a warrior onto the cobra and caught it in the middle of it. It is a sad incident in my life," the owner told local media.

In an incident in North Carolina last week, a pet dog saved his owner's life during an attempted armed robbery. The man was shot by the robber who demanded money he had just won from a scratch off lottery ticket. The man's dog charged at the robber and in return was shot four times. The dog underwent surgery and later recovered.
