Huge Snake Beaten To Death By 4 Men, Video Of Act Posted On TikTok

Four men were arrested for killing a snake and making a TikTok video showing the act. The incident took place in the western Indian state of Gujarat.

The men, farm laborers, saw the rat snake at the farm they were working at. They ran behind the reptile and caught hold of it. The four men then started playing with the reptile before hitting it with wooden sticks and stones till it died. They then burnt the carcass and filmed the entire act. The forest department was made aware of the video following which the four men were traced and taken into custody Sunday.

“We had received the video three days ago, following which we had launched a suo moto investigation. All the accused have been booked under sections of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. We will now produce them in court and take the investigation further,” a forest official said.

“They were not aware that killing a snake is crime. They just wanted to have fun so they hit the snake for the videos,” the official added.

Meanwhile, the video of the act has since gone viral. The video showed the men dancing to a song while beating the reptile to death with sticks.
