Country music star Dolly Parton and American rapper Doja Cat will feature in a Taco Bell musical about the chain's "Mexican Pizza."

“Mexican Pizza: The Musical” will be "based on the true story of the Internet losing its mind" after Taco Bell took the item off the menu, according to a photo of the screenplay posted on Parton's Instagram. Taco Bell's Mexican pizza has generated some attention on social media.

"I'm making #MexicanPizzaTheMusical with @TacoBell,” Parton said. Parton noted her appreciation for Taco Bell's Mexican pizza in a January interview with Insider. “They used to make a little ... Mexican Pizza, which is also good. I love that,” she said.

Taco Bell confirmed the musical Monday in a tweet.

The first announcement that the Mexican Pizza would be making a comeback was during Weekend 1 of Coachella on April 17 during Doja Cat’s performance. She said, “I brought back the Mexican Pizza, by the way!”

“Mexican Pizza: The Musical” will premiere exclusively on TikTok at 8 p.m. ET on May 26.

Mexican pizza was taken off the menu in November 2020. It will return to Taco Bell’s menu on May 19, according to an April press release.

It consists of a flour-tortilla shell with refried beans, seasoned ground beef, and Mexican sauce, topped with another tortilla, Mexican sauce, cheese, and chopped tomatoes.
