Drake is showing support as his bestie Adele drops her first single in five years. The award-winning rapper took to Instagram Stories Thursday to give the English singer a sweet shoutout and promote her new music.

"One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single," Drake wrote atop a photo of Adele before tagging her in his Instagram Story and adding, "WOIIIIIIII."

A netizen tweeted a screenshot of his post, which came shortly after Adele released her new single, "Easy On Me," Thursday. The said tweet came with a photo of the two artists.

Drake and Adele, both Grammy winners, have been longtime friends. During her Instagram Live on Oct. 10, where she teased a snippet of her new single, the "Someone Like You" singer referred to Drake's "Certified Love Boy" as her favorite album for 2021. Adele was also one of the few celebrity guests spotted at Drake's birthday bash in Los Angeles in October 2019.

Drake's friendship with Adele can be traced back to 2015 when Adele publicly declared her love for the rapper's hit track "Hotline Bling." She also said in the same interview that she wanted them to do an official remix of the song.

"I love Drake. I love Drake so much," Adele said at that time. "I even got the coat that's in the video, I got it delivered the other day, I ordered it. The red one."

Drake eventually learned about it and in response, he said, "I'd do anything with Adele. I'd literally go to Adele's house right now and do laundry for her," he said.

Their friendship even blossomed after Adele and her then-husband Simon Konecki moved to Los Angeles, where Drake was based.

Meanwhile, Adele said in an interview with Vogue last week that neither she nor Konecki did anything wrong in their marriage, but they had to split because their union didn't give her a sense of fulfillment.

"Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that. it was just I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It's really important to me," she explained.
