Coffee chain Dunkin’ (DNKN) is looking to hire up to 25,000 employees through its franchisees during the coronavirus pandemic.

The company has about 90% of its restaurant locations open and is looking to increase its workforce in a variety of positions, including management and front counter jobs. Dunkin’ said it has an immediate need for workers, and it is offering additional long-term educational benefits and career skills for those that are hired.

Through the hiring program, Dunkin’ has partnered with Southern New Hampshire University to offer online college courses to employees to obtain low-cost college degrees. Additional benefits of working at Dunkin’ include flexible and affordable education opportunities, flexible work schedules, competitive pay, professional growth, and core skill-building, the company said.

“Dunkin’ is committed to keeping America running and working. We are proud to support our franchisees who offer much-needed job opportunities, in a welcoming environment where people can feel appreciated and rewarded for serving both customers and their communities during this critical time,” Stephanie Lilak, Dunkin’ Brands’ senior vice president and chief human resources officer, said in a statement.

“With the brand’s new partnership with SNHU, new advertising campaign, and in-store safety measures, our franchisees are providing both new and current restaurant employees a great workplace, and the chance to gain experiences and skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.”

During the coronavirus pandemic, Dunkin’ also implemented a number of “strict safety standards.” The company requires employees to wear gloves and face masks and has added plexiglass shields to its front counter. It is also promoting social distancing and recommends that its franchisees take employee health checks using infrared thermometers.

Shares of Dunkin' stock were up 3.23% as of 1:41 p.m. EDT on Monday.
