Ed Sheeran recently debunked rumors that Taylor Swift’s new song, “Dress,” was about him.

During a recent Instagram live stream on AugustMan (via Entertainment Weekly), Sheeran said that he doesn’t think “Dress” was about him because Swift clearly talked about someone with a buzz haircut, and that’s not his hairstyle.

People also pointed out that it is Swift’s boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, who had a buzz cut when he attended last year’s Met Gala. That was also the first time that Swift met Alwyn.

Fans initially thought that Swift referenced Sheeran in “Dress” because there was a line in the song that mentioned “shape of you.” One of Sheeran’s most recent and most popular songs had the same title. Swift fans also thought that the line, “I don’t want you like a best friend,” was intended for Sheeran because he and Swift have a very close, but friendly relationship.

Sheeran even collaborated with Swift on one of the songs from her “Reputation” album. The English singer sung “End Game” with Swift.

Last month, Sheeran even shared some exciting details about Swift’s relationship with Alwyn. During an interview with Capital London’s “Breakfast Show,” Sheeran revealed that he’s met Alwyn and he’s really nice. “They are very much in love, they have quite a low-key relationship, which Taylor likes,” he said.

And Sheeran is also happy and in love with his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, who he recently moved in with. While speaking on “The Jonathan Ross Show,” Sheeran credited Seaborn for helping him deal with his substance abuse struggles.

“I think that was a real helping ground for me. I was a 25-year-old in the music industry on tour so I just needed someone to balance me out,” he said.

And speaking of tour, Sheeran recently performed in Bangkok, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of his Divide world tour. He even shared a photo of the massive crowd that attended his sold out concerts. The English singer had to cancel some of his performances in Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka and Seoul after he suffered from a bicycle accident.
